It Features:
Ease of Use
Near Universal Compatibility
Make Incredible 3D Videos!
Low Cost

Note: This is for SD Video. Please research field sequential video before buying. Although new it is a bit of a relic.

More Information! This is what makes the pro different that the regular camera

The video transmitter and wired glasses easily connect between your TV and VHS video player so you can view these and most other 3D videos and DVDs. Images take on a whole new dimension! Comes with 37mm adapter, step-up or step-down adapters are needed for other sizes.

It offers all this!
Ease of Use: Once attached to the camcorder, autofocus, exposure, zoom, and white balance camera functions are performed as usual. It's as simple to use your camcorder to record in realistic, stereoscopic 3D as it is to record in flat, dimensionless 2D.

Compatibility with older standard def camcorders: Works with most older SD camcorders and comes with multiple adapters.
Make sure you turn off any compression and progressive scan on your camcorder.
NuView 3D Camcorder Adaptor Modified!

Incredible 3D Video: Weddings, vacations, sporting events, parties and much more take on an added dimension.

Low Cost: Allows 3D production by the home enthusiast.

HOW IT WORKS:

The NuView adapter uses a proprietary, patent pending process which allows two distinct views (left and right eyes) to enter the single lens of a camcorder, in order to provide a true stereoscopic 3D image to be displayed and/or recorded. A threaded optical adapter is first attached to the camera's filter threads, which provides a stable optically aligned bayonet mount for the NuView. After the adapter is attached, the camcorder is used in a normal manner to view and record. To duplicate a true stereoscopic 3D experience, the adapter provides the user with a simple single convergence control, which allows you to converge on objects near and far.

Camcorder: The NuView requires a camcorder that will accept threaded filter rings.

Viewing: To view 3D videos on your TV, you will need the 3D shutter glasses we offer. How the glasses work
CRT or “Tube” type televisions are required for use with the 3D Video Viewing Systems. These types of televisions refresh their image in a very consistent manner, which makes it very easy for the 3D system to synchronize to the signal.

HDTV, Plasma, LCD, and most projection television systems refresh their image in a random manner. This makes it impossible for the 3D Video Viewing system to synchronize to their signal, making them incompatible with the system. The exception to this is 3 “gun” CRT based projection systems where all 3 guns have a synchronized refresh.Modifications
Issue #1: Opposite polarization of the right and left light paths.

This causes a bright reflection or glare show up in the view for one eye but not in the view for the other! Light reflected from smooth angled surfaces becomes "plane polarized," and light from the sky is heavily polarized at certain angles to the sun. Such light can be blocked by one of the NuView polarizers, and passed through by the other!

The only scenes which didn't have this problem were those which had no noticeable smooth reflecting surfaces at an angle to the viewer and no polarized sky light.. I'm sure you would agree that having to confine your photography to such scenes is a severe limitation, especially for outdoor photography. To fix this, you can't change the orientation of one of the NuView polarizers, because the opposing polarization is necessary for the NuView to work!

Fortunately, help is now at hand! There is a solution involving the installation of a remarkable optical film called a "half wave retarder." Proper retarder installation completely solves this problem! It causes the polarized reflections and sky color to appear the same for both left and right views, similar to the view when you wear ordinary polarized sunglasses.

Issue #2: Unwanted reflections and flares.

This issue causes bright splotches, fuzzy or washed-out images, and other reflections from the interior of the unit to appear in the view for one eye, while no such images (or unmatched images!) may appear for the other eye.

There are two main causes for these reflections and flares. The first and most common cause is the transparent, protective, curved plastic plate installed across the entire front of the NuView. (Dust on this plate can also be an annoyance.) Yes, the plate IS anti-reflection coated on both sides, but this is not enough to stop reflections from bright lights and, occasionally, from brightly lit subjects in the scene. These bright objects can light up or be reflected from structures within the NuView, and their illuminated images can be reflected on the inside of the protective plate, where they are visible to the camcorder lens..

This is not to be confused with the double imaging called "ghosting," a kind of "cross-talk" between the left and right images which occurs, for example, when a very bright object, not at window distance, is placed against a very dark background. The only cure for ghosting is to anticipate it by superimposing the high contrast images with the window (convergence) control or by avoiding high contrast images altogether.

With this modification we remove the transparent plastic protective plate, which eliminates the reflections caused by it. I also make the black rubber bezel removable so that you can temporarily reinstall and remove the transparent protective plate at will. In this way, when you want to avoid reflections (most of the time!), you can leave the plastic plate off. But when you need a transparent barrier to protect the NuView interior from, say, stray water splashes while taping the kids playing with a water hose or diving into a pool, you can put the plastic plate back in place temporarily for that shooting session. .

Note that the transparent, plastic protective plate is not necessary for proper operation of the NuView. Removal of it does not in any way alter the effectiveness of the NuView at producing a 3D image, and leaving the plate off may actually improve the quality slightly.

WARNING: The only disadvantage to removal of the plate is that you must be more careful about protecting the delicate front-surface mirror and other optical surfaces in the interior of the unit. A small blower brush or a can of Dust Off is a handy accessory to keep with the unit.

Issue #2 The Vertical Adjustment by an Allen Wrench (we add a knob).

It seems that whenever you need to readjust the vertical alignment of the left and right images, which can be at the most inconvenient of times, you have to go through the annoying procedure of finding the Allen wrench, threading it through the tiny hole in the rubber bezel, feeling around with it until it finds the hex shaped socket and turning the wrench until it drops into place. Then, after you have made the adjustment, you don't dare leave the wrench in place, for fear that it may drop out and you'll lose it! So, back it goes into a safe corner of the camera bag until it is needed again, at which time the whole, sorry procedure has to be repeated.
